Stackly

About Stackly

A small team selling family homes in four towns, started by a parent who kept getting asked about school boundaries.

A cream split-level home with brick trim and a raised garden bed, above a broad striped lawn on a clear day.

From a kitchen table in Naperville.

Doug Strandberg spent twenty years planning school buildings for suburban districts west of Chicago. When his own kids started at the neighborhood elementary, other parents began asking him which streets fed which schools.

He got his license in 2012 and opened Stackly from a rented desk in a shared downtown office. The first listings came from families on his own block.

Carmel came next in 2016, then Ann Arbor in 2019 and Madison in 2022. Each time we hired someone who already lived in the town and had walked its school routes.

What we hold to

Boundaries before bedrooms

We confirm the school assignment for every home we list or show, and put the source on the listing.

Real minutes, not map minutes

Walk and drive times on our listings are timed on a school morning, not guessed by an app.

Plain numbers

Taxes, HOA dues and any special assessments go on the first page, so the monthly cost is clear early.

The four of us

Email any of us directly. If your town belongs to a colleague, we pass you over the same day.

Doug Strandberg

Founder, Naperville

Planned school buildings for twenty years before opening Stackly in 2012. He still answers the main line most mornings.

A smiling woman with shoulder-length curly hair in a black top, against a soft grey wall.

Renee Calloway

Agent, Carmel

Ran the PTO at her kids’ Carmel elementary for four years. She knows the roundabouts and every carpool line by heart.

A smiling man with short dark hair and a neat beard in a blue button-down shirt, against a pale grey backdrop.

Nico Ianniello

Agent, Ann Arbor

Came to Ann Arbor for grad school and stayed. He coaches under-10 soccer and books Saturday tours around the games.

A smiling young woman with her hair pulled back in a black and white striped turtleneck, against a white wall.

Anjali Mehta

Agent, Madison

Taught fourth grade in Madison for six years. Parents ask her about class sizes as often as closing costs.

Come by the Naperville office

We are on the first floor of a low brick office building off Diehl Road, close to I-88. Parking is free, and there is a box of crayons at the front desk for anyone under ten.

Tell us the town and the first day of school. We’ll plan back from there.
